“What are you listening to?”

🎢”Hello, it’s me… I’ve been wondering after all these years if you’d like to meet… to go over… everything…“🎡

Sandra lay in bed, listening to this melody of a song play over and over in her ear.

Suddenly, her emotions were stirred up and got her thinking over her past. Of Thomas- who she had not heard of in over a year. Immediately, she picked up her phone, scrolling through until she found his number and then texted:

“I still love you.”

Now Thomas, who clearly has moved on texts back-

“Get over it.”

A stab to her heart

A jab at her self-worth.

Yet, instead of turning off the thing she listened to which put her in that position, she switches to the next playlist, crying as she belts out,

🎢“Never mind I’ll find someone like youuuuu…!”🎢

Why Sandra, why? Why do you want to find someone like him, Sandra? Why can’t you believe God for better?”

Today, Queen Esther Preparation throws this question to you, “What are you listening to, Queen?”

What are you filling your ears with?

We are in a time where most have Itchy ears.

“For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.” (NLT 2 Timothy 4:3)

We are filling our ears with all the wrong stuff and as women, we tend to yearn for delicious words all the time.

Let’s take for instance Eve in the Garden of Eden:

Eve is taking a stroll in the garden when the serpent glided next to her, “How beautiful you look, O woman, taken from the side of Adam.”

Eve put her hand to her lips and giggled at the serpents words.

“Where are you going?” hissed the Serpent, his words concerned.

“Oh- just walking around. I am not sure where Adam is.”

The Serpent, seeing his opportunity, glided closer to Eve and hissed, “Why would he leave you alone? If I were Adam, I will stick close to you all the time.”

Eve laughed, listening to his words as she plucked a fruit from a nearby tree.

“Oh look how the juice of the fruit makes your lips beautiful. How awesome you will look biting into the fruit of knowledge of good and evil…”

Eve blinked, looking back at the serpent and then asked, “What fruit?”

The Serpent nodded towards the tree.

“Oh that tree- we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, “You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.” said Eve, turning away.

The serpent, seeing that Eve was ready to listen to him now, said, “You will certainly not die. For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

And so the story goes in the Book of Genesis  Chapter 3.

Perhaps humanity would not have been what it is now if Queen Eve, checked what she was listening to in the Garden of Eden.

#Itchy Ears.

Check what you listen to Queen.

When Queen Esther hadn’t heard from her King Ahasuerus for 30 days; she didn’t listen to the voices that may have said; ‘For 30 days you haven’t heard from him… he can’t possibly love you.” Rather, she rose up and fasted for the salvation of the Jews and in the end; this saved her marriage also.

In this Queen Esther Preparation journey; whether you are preparing for your dream job or goal, marriage or ministry; check what you listen to in relation to it because what you listen to in this journey can either have you this way:

or this way:

The words of Jesus Christ are enough to calm a troubled heart once you chose to listen to Him.

What are you listening to, Queen?

Jesus loves you and I do too,

Queens in Christ,
