The Servant Queen

“I’m a Queen, okay? I am a Queen, have you heard?”

“Okay.”

“I have been reading Queen Esther Preparation and the writer says I am a Queen, so don’t tell me to open the gate for you anymore.”

“Uh..”

“I am a Queen; so I don’t just do things for people like that-.”

“Okay, please can you bring me the TV remote?”

“Didn’t you just hear that I said I am a Queen? Take it yourself!”

Whoaaa…. (hahaa) please, if this is what you have been receiving from these posts then hold up-

Let’s talk about the subject that causes many women to cringe shall we?

Submission.

*drum roll*

Hahaa…

This thing called submission alone has created many wars in homes.

Wives submit to your husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. (ESV Ephesians 5:22-24)

This scripture alone has caused many women to detest the thought of marriage.

But hey, before you allow your neck to stiffen and your lips to press in distaste and your hands to tense up into a fist at this scripture, heed please, this revelation:

In the course of this Queen Esther Preparation journey, I often wondered, why at all should one leave their home and go and submit to some man?

The Lord was gracious enough to drop these scriptures in my spirit:

“Whoever is least among you is the greatest.” (NLT Luke 9:48)

And this is the one that hit home:

“But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But the greatest among you shall be your servant.” (Matthew 20:25-26)

The greatest among you shall be your servant.

Did you get that?

The greatest among you shall be your servant.

Why are women supposed to submit?

Because we are the greatest.

Hahaa..

Let’s face it. With everything that God created He declared it good- however, the one time He said during creation that ‘it was not good”, was because we were not there!

And once we arrived- voila! He declared all of creation to be good!

If God is asking you to submit, its not because you are less than; its because you are great.

No one likes a showoff. Just imagine you at your workplace, at your church, or as a wife; always trying to prove yourself right. Annoying right?

More often than not, we women are always right (hahaa) however, there is no need to rub it in.

Being a Servant Queen does not mean slaving your life away but rather, being humble enough to assume the duties that come with your position.

Perhaps you do not know how to submit? It’s easy; build a relationship with Jesus.

A person is able to submit when they have a relationship with Jesus : submit to your husbands, as to the Lord!

So, if you are not already submitting to the Lord; the thought of submitting is going to annoy you to the moon and back.

If you ask me, the men got it worse in the marriage equation. They are told to love their wives as Christ loves the church and gave his life up for her!

Wow.

They have a lot of loving to do.

And as Mishael of Hope Church says: “If you haven’t given your life up for your wife then you still have a long way to go to meet the mark of Christ as a husband.”

Submission isn’t scary if bae is obeying the Lord because if he is striving to love you as Christ loves you then he won’t make you slave away.

So, in this Queen Esther Preparation journey are you ready to be a Servant Queen like Queen Esther was? Like Abigail was? Like the Shunnamite woman was?

Don’t be a Vashti.

Let’s be Servant Queen’s; giving of ourselves onto others that Christ may lift us up.

Jesus Loves You and I do too,

Queen’s in Christ,
 ❤
