So… who was Queen Esther?

When I began to share with a few people what God laid on my heart in regards to Queen Esther and her preparation period; I was amazed to find that most did not know who she was. So, even before I start to share stories of my on-going preparation, I just want to share the story of Queen Esther. To have done so in the about section of this blog would have taken up all of that space so instead, I am honored to dedicate this first post to the Queen of whose preparation this blog draws its focus- Queen Esther.

Before she became Queen Esther, Hadassah was an orphaned girl being raised by her Uncle Mordecai. It so happened that the Queen at the time had greatly displeased the king and in his anger, he sort to replace her. This brought out a nationwide search for a young woman who would take up this position. I don’t know why but this bit always reminds me of Cinderella, with how the Prince was looking for someone that will fit into the glass slipper.

Favorably, out of all the women gathered, Hadassah, named Esther, is chosen by the King to become his new Queen however, this wasn’t until she had undergone that period of ‘preparation’ as is clearly stated in the Book of Esther:

12-14 Each girl’s turn came to go in to King Xerxes after she had completed the twelve months of prescribed beauty treatments—six months’ treatment with oil of myrrh followed by six months with perfumes and various cosmetics.

This Book goes on to state just how much favor Esther won in the sight of the king:

17-18The king fell in love with Esther far more than with any of his other women or any of the other virgins—he was totally smitten by her. He placed a royal crown on her head and made her queen in place of Vashti. Then the king gave a great banquet for all his nobles and officials—“Esther’s Banquet.” He proclaimed a holiday for all the provinces and handed out gifts with royal generosity.

Although it may seem I have stuck to the lovey dovey overview of the story, Queen Esther, actually, is a true heroine. She saved the jews from what could have been a deadly massacre of jews at the time. For Haman, as the true account of the story goes, sort to exterminate all Jews …

8 Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom. Their laws are different from those of every other people, and they do not keep the king’s laws, so that it is not to the king’s profit to tolerate them. 9If it please the king, let it be decreed that they be destroyed, and I will pay 10,000 talents of silver into the hands of those who have charge of the king’s business, that they may put it into the king’s treasuries.” 10So the king took his signet ring from his hand and gave it to Haman the Agagite, the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews. 11And the king said to Haman, “The money is given to you, the people also, to do with them as it seems good to you.”

12 Then the king’s scribes were summoned on the thirteenth day of the first month, and an edict, according to all that Haman commanded, was written to the king’s satraps and to the governors over all the provinces and to the officials of all the peoples, to every province in its own script and every people in its own language. It was written in the name of King Ahasuerus and sealed with the king’s signet ring. 13 Letters were sent by couriers to all the king’s provinces with instruction to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all Jews, young and old, women and children, in one day, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, and to plunder their goods. Imagine such wickedness!

Once Queen Esther was told of this, she sought the counsel of Mordecai and even more so, she sought the power of God to be able deliver her people from the hands of Haman. True to His nature; GOD came through for her!

As a Bible believing Christian, I believe this Book is true. So, even before we embark on this journey of preparation, I encourage you to read through the Book of Esther to better understand this blog. The movie, One Night With The King; from which I gained these pictures is also in high recommendation by me to gain insight into the story of Queen Esther.  I daresay that God is raising up Queen Esther’s all over the world. Queens of different nationalities and colours 🙂

Let’s heed to His call and manifest the royalty He’s placed in us…!

“Hi Father,

Thank you for this journey of activating our Queenship rights. Empower everyone willing to take this journey with me. For indeed all creation is waiting for our manifestation as sons and daughters of God. We ask for More Grace; in Jesus Name…

Amen.”

Jesus loves you and I do too,

Queens in Christ,

Ann Manu ❤
