To Be or Not To Be
To marry or not to marry?
To be a bride to be or not to be a bride to be…
These questions tend to waft through the minds of many young women (or men, groom-wise)
Even those who have not read a word of Shakespeare are sure to have heard the popular phrase, “To Be or Not to Be.”
However, this post is nothing on Shakespeare’s character, Hamlet, who is pondering whether to exist or not to exist.
But rather to the many women who have been wondering if marriage is what they want or not.
While purchasing this tiara for a friend’s bridal shower, it was impressed upon my spirit the pressure many women are facing:
In a world where marriage has almost been placed as an ultimatum for a woman, its easy for any woman during their preparation stage to start to ponder over whether thats really what they want.
No pressure.
That’s the beauty of being in a season of preparation; you get to find out what it is that God wants you to do.
You get to realise that you are in your own race.
That the fact that the lady next to you got married doesn’t mean you also have to do the same right away.
This season enables you to believe in God’s timing for your life.
In studying the word of God you realise that, marriage is actually a calling:
“So I say to those who aren’t married and to widows- it’s better to stay unmarried, just as I am. But if they can’t control themselves, they should go ahead and marry. It’s better to marry than to burn with lust.” (NLT 1 Corinthians 7:8-9)
If you are at that crossroad in your life- go to God. He’s sure to share with you His blueprint for your life.
At the same time, know that you are sure to be a bride one day. Yup; to your King Jesus- when He comes to wed the church!
Cheers to making the right decisions.
