The practice of ‘It is well”

 

When life places you in a boxing ring where you keep receiving blows after blows; practice your it is well.

Whether or not your king has delivered to you a bunch of roses this Valentines day, you need to have the practice of “It is well” at the tip of your tongue:

 

“It is well,” when you haven’t gained employment.

“It is well,” when he’s broken up with you on valentines day.

“It is well,” when you can’t see how you are going to get out of that seemingly depressing situation you are in now.

“It is well.”

So far, there is no woman in the Bible that I greatly admire than the Shunammite woman! I like to call her my “It is well woman” (haha…)

She is such an example of a woman who knows how to move the hand of God in her affairs. It’s no wonder she was known to be wealthy!

In this #queenestherpreparation journey; the Lord brought to mind the revelation of who she was once again. Queen, in your preparation you need to learn the wisdom of the Shunammite woman. You see, she was on the lookout for things that will bring blessings to her family. She didn’t wait for manna to fall from heaven but instead, she actively sought to do things that would bring the glory of God into her family!

One day Elisha went to Shunem, where a wealthy woman lived, who urged him to eat some food. And she said to her husband, “Behold now, I know this is a holy man of God who is continually passing our way. Let us make a small room on the roof with walls and put there for him a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, so that whenever he comes to us, he can go in there.” (ESV 2Kings 4:8-10)

An “It is well” woman creates provision for God’s people and she in turn is blessed by God! God, through Elisha blessed the Shunnamite woman with her heart long desire to have a son! When the enemy hit hard again to take away this blessing from her; the Shunnamite woman did not complain to her husband- neither did she complain when she met Elisha’s servant Gehazi but instead, all she uttered was “It is well.”

“But the woman conceived, and bore a son when the appointed time had come, of which Elisha had told her. And the child grew. Now it happened one day that he went to his father, to the reapers. And he said to his father, “My head, my head!” So he said to a servant, “Carry him to his mother.” When he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon and then died … “then she called to her husband, and said, “Please send me one of the young men and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and come back. So he said, Why are you going to him today? It is neither the New Moon nor the Sabbath.” And she said, “It is well.” (NKLV 2kings 4: 18-23)

In the end, Elisha, through the power of God, raised the child back to life!

Speaking ‘it is well’ over situations that arise enables you to not be faint hearted. It sparks faith into you!

So in this #queenestherpreparation journey, allow your lips to speak positively. In whatever situation you find yourself, practice your it is well. Like the picture of the brain and the heart, speaking positive words will give life to your heart to move on and press on towards victory. Like the Shunnamite woman’s husband; your king does not need to hear complaints but rather, “It is well.”

In Queen Esther’s time of preparation; I am certain she saw her competition and often got disheartened yet with God on her side, she had to know, it is well! In the end; she was crowned Queen amongst the other maidens:

The King loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained favor in his sight (NKJV 2:17)

Make speaking “It is well” over situations a lifestyle. As you practice your “It is well” may you be the rose amongst all other roses;
