What is your favourite food?
Does your mouth water at the sight of it?
Do you consistently crave it?
Does its aroma fill you up fondly?
Well, if you are like me, thoughts of your favourite food will bring a smile.
Going on social media, you are bound to come across different kinds of foods.
And especially on a day when you are hungry, when you see all these meals posted all over on social media, you will see your mouth start to water, almost as if you can smell the aroma of the food.
Just as mine did when I saw the spread on my brother and sister in law’s table:
On days when you are particularly hungry, quickly, you might be tempted to take your phone out to find out how you can order for this meal, wondering, how at all can you eat this good thing?
If you have ever been in this situation, you are not alone!
Whether you are a vegetarian or meat eater, you just know when you have eaten a good thing!
Isn’t one sign of great wealth a person who has no limit to good food?
So, want to know how you can eat good things?
It’s simple really.
- Be willing
- Be obedient
Surprised?
Here’s a scripture to prove it:
“If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land..” NIV Isaiah 1:19
God said this! Not me.
Just be willing and obedient and you will eat good things.
Is God telling you to start a business?
Be willing and obedient.
Is God telling you to minister to the sick?
Be willing and obedient.
Is God telling you to usher at church?
Be willing and obedient.
Is God telling you to have faith?
Be willing and obedient.
So that what? So that you will eat the good things of the land!
Queen Esther is such an example.
When she was faced with the situation of having to save the Jews, she had to decide whether or not she would be willing and obedient enough to expose Haman to the king!
If she hadn’t been willing and obedient, guess what would have happened- “…if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” NIV Isaiah 1:20
The whole Jewish nation would have been annihilated!
However, because of her willingness and obedience; she ate the good things of the land! She was favoured and blessed beyond all she could ever imagine and till date, people like us are still telling her story!
So, do you long to eat good things?
Be willing and obedient.
Hope you have encountered wisdom in this post.
