Why Every Woman Should Have A Tambourine

You know Miriam? Moses’ sister? Well, she had a tambourine.

With this tambourine, she praised her way out of dreary situations that arose in her life!

The concept of Miriam’s tambourine is the concept of praise!

QEP believes every woman must have a tambourine and no; not necessarily to own one physically (although that will be great) but to hold one up in the realms of the Spirit- to hold up praise to God every time you are faced with something overbearing.

Everyone wants to be like King David the Psalmist just because God said about him; “I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart…” (NIV Acts 13:22)

You know how I see this scripture?

David was in pursuit after God’s heart!

How did David pursue God’s heart?

With praise!

He made praise a lifestyle!

Just recently an issue arose where I opened my mouth to murmur and a dear someone sitting next to me said; “The secret of the psalmist was praise. When the Israelites complained, God sent snakes amongst them. You don’t want that.”

Of course I didn’t! So since then I have taken up a new challenge in the Queen Esther Preparation journey to praise my way out of everything!

In that moment, I immediately saw Miriam’s tambourine and was aghast when I saw cobwebs and dust on it since it was tucked away in a dark and dreary room. The Lord said in that moment, “Tell my women to pick up their tambourines and praise!”

Shake the dust and cobwebs off your tambourine and praise, hun!

Praise didn’t come to Miriam easy.

She saw first hand as heartbreakingly, her mother had to let go of Moses because Pharaoh was killing all the Israelite male babies of the time:

She witnessed her people be oppressed and mistreated by the Egyptians and still she praised God for how far He had brought them. Perhaps if she had continued to pick up the tambourine of praise, she and the Israelites would have made it to the promised land:

Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine and led all the women as they played their tambourines and danced. And Miriam sang this song: “Sing to the Lord, For he has triumphed gloriously; He has hurled both horse and rider into the sea.” (NLT Exodus 15: 20-21)

So, Queen- practice your praise!

Ready yourself in this season of preparation, to pick up your tambourine when the devil threatens to steal your joy in marriage, with your children, with your career. Pick up your tambourine and praise! Make it a lifestyle!

Once you understand this power of praise over murmuring and complaining as a lifestyle; I daresay every red sea will be parted before you!

Pick up Miriam’s tambourine,

Make praise, happen!

Make praise a lifestyle!

Jesus loves you and I do too,

Queen’s in Christ,
 ❤
